We have a day and a half and a hope of sunshine to make this:

into this (well a sort of this but a more 3D, textured and funked-up version of this...):

It's gonna be gluey and painty and probably laughable and coming to a website near you very soon.

Be Kind Rewind

Who has been? Who WAnts to go?

What did YOU do on Saturday night?

I made a patchwork blanket which was roughly the size of four cars.

I then spent Sunday up at the Heath, finding aesthetically pleasing trees, dressing and undressing models, wrapping tree trunks in patterned fabric, touching up hair and make-up, making dens out of patterned fabric, running round like a bit of a lunatic with my fellow stylists and beautifiers extraordinaire, Beki and Kim and generally getting a bit damp from the 'light' rain.

I LOVE clashing patterns but I am NOT feeling this half-hearted drizzle. Either piss-down like you REALLY mean it or let the sun have its wicked way. Can't WAIT to see the photos courtesy of the dynamic duo, Brendan and Brendan.

It's been a busy week for Lauren and I. I finished at Topshop on friday it has been great working there. I have learnt loads and been able to bin raid to my hearts content! I found these in a bin near Topshop, going to make something fun with them!!

I went to the Peter Doig privet view with Ruairi last week and the my good friend Hannah joined me at the after party at cafe de Paris. It was great fun, dancing, free bar and mini food!Photobucket
Nearly lost Lauren in B & Q this week. We took enough sample wallpaper to wallpaper a small flat! Surprised we didn't get nicked!wallpaperPhotobucketWhile sourcing I stubbled across these in a trimmings shop, love the colours and patterns

This week we have been working on a big project that we will reveal more about as it goes to print. Three days to source and make, lots of hard work!At either end of Lauren's table it felt like the last supper!

Bright Young Things

I was introduced to the work of Fred Butler by the lovely Lucy Butler this weekend (coincidental same surname!). Fred Butler is a prop-styling, accessory-making, event-directing and general all-around maker-extraordinaire. Check out her website and see for yourself.

Also Danny Sangra introduced me to the work of Nagi Noda yesterday, or so I thought. After checking out her website properly I realised I was already familiar with her stuff. She is the creative genius behind the fairy tale hair pieces in Tactile, a visual feast of a book by the super-stylish publishers Die Gestalten Verlag.

As well as her work on her website, her music videos can be watched on You Tube. Sentimental Journey is actually made using lots of girls, all styled to look the same and staying still in their given position. It is unbelievable, I thought it was all post-production and even partly painted maybe...Another multi-talented creative who can lend her hand to most creative disciplines, producing consistently witty, fun and unique work.
