To document the change from summer to Autumn these are now making up a window display - a sticky mess amongst autumn leaves. Sarah Fotheringham and I were up super early today to document our recent projects but I don't have the final images back yet. I am going to wait and put them up on the website when I know how to do it properly. In my recent attempt to update the site I got a bit over ambitious and kind of messed it up... Oh well it could have been worse and I have to learn somehow!

Decorating the City

A quick snap of one of the 'I am' Orange adverts that we made props for. They are already popping up even though we are still working on the rest of the ads from the same campaign. From underground advertising to huge trackside billboards, newspapers to animated web gifs...Chrissie's name is in big, quirky, orange, glittery lights all over the city! Back to the Peepshow HQ next week for more gluey fun and frollicks. Oh yes. For now though, I am going to finish downloading Caramel, put it on, and attempt to overcome the new bout of insomnia by drifting off into a peaceful sleep halfway through...

Art of Football

Yep there is more!
Lauren and I have been chosen to show our piece at the Art of Football show in Basel. We are being flown out next week for the privet view. We are really looking forward to it!! So if anyone is in Switzerland and wants to come send us an email...

Nike Live Drawing

Dazed and Confused Feature.

Pick up your copy of Dazed this month and check out the little feature they have done on Jiggery Pokery in conjunction with the Nike 'Art of Football' project. Thanks for the beautiful 'work in progress' photograph by Will Robson-Scott. They also got us to design a Jiggery Pokery pair of kicks (pictured) which will be delivered to our doorsteps very soon. Result!





As soon as we have some pics of the monster we created for the Live Drawing battle in Nike Town we will put them up too.

Call me 'No Blogs'

Jamie Jongo's painty room of fun. We had to borrow his shoes to then change it from Francis Bacon-esque studio to a photography studio. We got busy with diamonds, New Era and old skool Transformer wrapping paper to create a flyer for a friend's night at Corsica Studio on 26th June. Tis gonna be heavy. Watch this space for pictures.



Since then we have been working with the lovely Chrissie Macdonald from the Peepshow Collective on a very exciting project that I will post more up about when it comes out. Getting busy in our temporary studio near Brick Lane also includes making quick felt headbands and making our legs into hotdogs.



I just got back from Brighton where I have spent the weekend, sorting stuff my other house-full of junk out and generally trying (unsuccessfully) to switch off. I am pretty sad that Annie is finishing up in Brighton now- it is the end of a very happy era. On the other hand though, the start of a very exciting new one in London. Someone writes their 'N's' funny!





In between the madness of Nike and the other job we are working on I have been playing around with some new collage ideas. Not sure why or what for but hey. If you can't switch off then switch it up instead.

I have another collage to do today and stuff to prepare for an exciting pitch on Saturday but after that, Anna and I are off to lead a trainer design session at Nike town. Yippee! You can also catch us there tomorrow from 3pm doing a 'Live Drawing'(!?!) event with the lovely Lucy Butler. Wow. My first blog in yonks. Lets hope it is not so long until the next...

Topshop Window.

Little celebration party for two, outside Topshop. Ruairi and I went to take pictures in the night of my window, it was fun. The window is up untill the end of the week so if you are passing Oxford circus go press your nose up to the glass and have a look.

wHo WeArS wHaT?

For anyone passing through Priory Road in Hornsey soon, Anna and I bring you some colour and fun for January. We did a Mighty Boosh/Castaway/coconut shy inspired window display where you have to match the glasses to the Celebrity. I am yet to take some photos of it but as soon as I do I will put them on the website. I am excited to say that I finally got the hang of Dreamweaver last night. Although I am a novice, I managed to sort all the bits that were niggling away at me without completely F*****G the whole site up. I am proud to say that I am feeling very proud of myself!

The Lead-Up to Christmas

What a busy week! Spent Sunday to Wednesday in the back room of Vibe Bar painting a load of 1940s props that we (Anna, Jess, Lucy and I) had collected the week before. I copletely lost track of time as the dark marquee-like, red room has no natural light whatsoever. Every night when we left there was just spotlight on the white pieces of furniture, objects and general bits and bobs that made it look very cold and spooky. The props were part of a catwalk show that Lucy Butler asked us to help her with. We had to come up with something for the theme 1940s/futuristic so we decided to make all the collected stuff look like it had been destroyed in a war but maybe more of a nuclear war. The catwalk show was part of a night called Rapture, run by Sense Magazine and got chosen as a Pick of the Week in the Guardian Guide. It was absolutely packed and Vibe Bar did their best ever Tuesday night on record. There is now talk of bigger and better work to come after the success of the night. I will post some photos of the catwalk when I get them off Jess.

Following that night Anna and I had an early meeting at Plastique Magazine and have a really interesting project to do with them for January...Christmas is going to be work-filled! Straight after we headed to Dalston and sourced some of the most tack Christmas decorations going to do a last-minute Christmas window display based on the theme 'The Way Christmas Used to Be'. It is definitely how Christmas would be if I had my way!

On Thursday we had all the white props shipped down to Vauxhall and did a shoot for Sense Magazine. We spent the whole day arranging and styling props and basically freezing our tits off, on the roof. To add a new dimension we had a 10 metre piece of gold lamé featuring alongside the white props. I have had it since I did a window display about 7 years ago and knew it would come in handy at some point! More photos from the shoot to be uploaded soon but there is a tiny preview from a higher rooftop that I took. It was Anna's 25th (welcome to the crew!). In the photo you can see her rocking her fresh new Filas courtesy of Ruairi- he knows her too well already! Wwe ended the night with an AMAZING meal at Chapter 20 in Blackheath. Perfect. I recommend it to everyone. Merry Christmas people xx

A little sneak preview of a project we helped Jess Bonham with a few weeks ago, early one morning. The art work is for Duologue, An experimental two-person ensemble who fuse electronic and accoustic music.

Bargain Basement Meets Art Deco

Another day, another project. Tomorrow will see the installation of our next piece, an opticians window display. Gold, black and fluoro, a slight Christmas tease but holding off until a more suitable time to put the actual Christmas display in (Christmas is still over a month away for those already packing stockings?!?!).

The photo shoots at the weekend were top banana. I wish I could display the results but they are strictly secret until the first issue of Disclosure Magazine comes out in December. I was in the BIGGEST mood ever because after setting everything up on Saturday afternoon for the front-cover shoot, a sky-full of moody clouds reared their ugly heads. Luckily for us (and everyone/thing in my war path at this point) we were thinking of packing up and sacking it all off, when we decided to do a couple of face and compositional shots anyway. Much to our disbelief, the sun started seeping through the grey and we were flooded by the most beautiful golden light you have ever seen. Ask Will Robson-Scott how bloody hard it is to try and make gliter sparkle on demand...not easy and extremely frustrating. As if by magic, the sky cleared completely to a vivid blue colour and we were bathing in crisp, winter light. The glitter sparkled its little toes off and our (very patient) models (thanks Lucy and Becky!) hung in there and sorted us right out with some well nice shots. Top wicked. Chip-Shop whoppin'.

Onto the Next Job.

No more Piñatas for a while. Now we are making props for the next photo shoot and buying colourful ribbon and loving some of the vintage finds in our magic shop of wonders (thanks Ruairi). Oh Yes. Nothing shall be disclosed (?!) as of yet but watch this space later in the year.

and less of this for now (...ahem) Work to be done and winter to be survived. Isn't it all lovely and crunchy-leaved now eh?

Piñata Challenge!

Because we have loved working with the YCN guys so much, we have prolonged our involvement in the Piñata project. After deciding to photograph and name each piñata individually, Nick came up with the idea of setting a challenge and awarding a prize to the person/people who could break open a piñata in the most interesting way...click here to chart the progress and/or get involved yourselves. We are VERY excited to see what people come up with!

Come and watch us online here, at work in the YCN office as of tomorrow. This is our latest project and a collaboration with YCN. We have spent the last few days having fun, getting inspired, collecting bits and pieces to go in the piñatas and sourcing materials to make them with...now the factory operations begin. We will be starting our production line of piñatas tomorrow with the helping hands of some kind volunteers. Each piñata will promote the 'Call for Entries' which includes a selection of exciting new projects, tasks and competitions, set by various companies, for young creatives to get involved in. Piñata Party!

The day finally came for the piñata to be smashed to smithereens! Thanks to our good friend Jess Bonham for helping us set up and phtograph the action. Nick and James from YCN came down to 'feed' their curious minds. Nick went straight for the cherryade and I have to say Jess, Anna and I were bouncing off the walls for most of the evening.
Alex Bec managed to get the continuous snaps that make up the animation. Thanks to all. What a lovely, sunny, funny day. We are intrigued to see how YCN might use them in their next book...

YCN Alphabet

Our latest piece of work is for YCN. We were commissioned to customise a bespoke letter 'J' for the next YCN book. Other designers and illustrators were comissioned to do the same. The results will be used to illustrate the book. Hopefully there might also be a photographic feature on us, as our creation is interactive. We decided to make a Mexican piñata after taking the initials JP for Jiggery Pokery and coming up with 'jackpot'. A piñata is a hollow shape made from papier mache which is then brightly painted and decorated. It can be shaped as whatever you want i.e an animal, a flower...Inside it is usually filled with sweets and children take turns to beat it with a stick, blindfolded, until it breaks and the sweets spill out. However, our piñata is not conventional and no amount of questioning from Alex at YCN has made us disclose our secrets!
